A small group Bible study you can open this week
Lampstead Groups is a small-group Bible study app. A leader picks the week. Everyone in the group sees the same passage, the background, and the discussion questions. Members can read ahead, mark that prep is done, keep private notes, and share prayer requests with the group.
What a week includes
- The passage, from the World English Bible (public domain).
- Background on the people, the setting, and the details the text assumes.
- A short big idea for that week.
- Discussion questions the group can work through together.
- A discussion timer that steps through those questions. Session notes are saved with that meeting’s attendance.
Studies you can start from
A new group starts on Road to Emmaus, a free four-week series on Luke 24. The Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–35) is also a free page on this site, and there is a two-page discussion guide for that evening. Philippians and Jonah each have a free sample week here. The rest of those two series is part of Lampstead Plus. All of them are listed on the studies page.
For members
Mark prep done so the leader can see who has read. Private notes stay on your account. Leaders and other members cannot read them. If the connection drops, the app keeps the last copy of the group on the device, so the study can still be read. A prep check marked offline is sent when you are back online.
For the leader
Assign the next reading from leader tools. Take attendance for the meeting date and save session notes with it. With Lampstead Plus, the weekly handout is one page for that week: the passage, background, every discussion question with space to write, and a prayer prompt, which you can print or save as a PDF. The same plan lets a leader write a custom week, with a passage, notes, and questions of their own.
Look before you create an account
The first screen has “Peek at a sample group.” It opens a read-only example: a Tuesday meeting, Luke 24:13–35, and a short prayer list. Nothing is written to your account until you sign up. RSVP, prayer, and the other actions on that sample ask you to create an account.
If you are about to lead the first night, how to lead a small group follows the steps the app actually uses. Prayer is covered on prayer requests for groups.
