A church small group app for the weekly meeting
Lampstead Groups is for a church small group that meets around a passage. Each group has its own name, meeting time, invite, study, prayer list, and attendance. Members join free for that basic use. The website does not sell subscriptions. Plan details are on Support.
Invite the group
The leader shares an invite code or a link. Anyone with that link can join as a member. The leader can also email an invite, and can let members share the same link. The link can last until the leader replaces it, or for 7 days, or for 30 days. The leader can require approval before a new member joins, and can revoke a link and issue a new code. A bad, expired, or replaced code tells the person what happened and lets them try another.
The meeting itself
Home shows this week’s study, when the group meets, and the place if the leader set one. People mark Coming, Maybe, or Can’t. Those names are visible to the group.
Leader tools record who was there, with session notes for that date, and an attendance streak after meetings are saved. Attendance can be exported. With Lampstead Plus, Insights shows attendance and prep over recent meetings and flags someone who came to fewer than half of them. The leader can send that person a short note. The note goes only by notifications or the meeting-reminder email they already turned on, and it is not kept in the group.
Between meetings
Leaders post a message to the group. Members reply on that thread. There is no separate member-to-member conversation. A leader can search messages, post a poll, or mark a message as an announcement. On a poll, leaders see which choice each member picked. Other members see the counts only when the leader set the poll to show them. On an announcement, the leader sees how many members have opened it.
A youth-group setting says on the home screen that there are no member-to-member messages. The leader can still require approval before someone new joins.
Reminders stay off until someone turns them on. The choices are a daily study reminder at a time you pick, a reminder before the group meets, and a Monday leader recap with attendance, prep, prayer requests, and what is next.
More than one group
A church can have more than one group. Each one keeps its own leader, invite, study, prayer list, and attendance. The study itself is described on small group Bible study, and the first-night steps are on how to lead a small group.
